I (Matt) went home for the weekend, and now The BWs have three new submissions:

Painter - BETA - This is on Membrs. The whole thing is by me. This song was almost a year in the making. The chorus was written in a resturant spring of last year. The first verse was written on a rock over summer. The last two verses, half of the extra part, and most of the guitar was written over winter break. The rest of the final part, the redone solo, redoing the final chorus, and learning to play the whole thing was done last weekend.

It's in BETA form because for one, it was incredibly rushed. I had less then a hour to record a good version, and didn't really have the lyrics or guitar memorized at the time. Though beside that the song's not meant to be done alone. It would be best if we could do the whole song together as a band, though I'd settle for an electric guitar and some backup vocalists.

- Tears Of A Clone - CoverThis is on Rnd, it's a cover of a song Will Forte sings on the show Clone High. I'd been singing it in the halway and decided I wanted to sing it and submit it when I get home. And I did.

Why o Why - This is on Rnd, and it's just terrible, it was designed that way. Teddy was trying to write the worst guitar part ever, and I was going to write the worst lyrics ever. Though after half an hour and the guitar actually coming out pretty good, I just wrote the guitar and the whole song in like one minute.

Lastly, me, Teddy, and Collin started working on a new song last week, though that's a while away from being finished.

Tribute to Bubba Sparxxx

We got a new song written and recorded tonight, Tribute to Bubba Sparxxx. Four BW members were involved, which is the most of any song other than Beat Up Your Girlfriend (For The Insurance). It was written, rapped, composed and arranged by Matt. The backup and beats were provided by Nick, Collin and Teddy.

Here's the history behind the song: today when flipping through other people's songs on our iTunes server, I (Matt) listened to Ugly by Bubba Sparxxx for the first time in three years. While going to eat lunch and thinking of ideas for BW songs, I come up with "Tribute to Bubba Sparxxx". Then while watching Nick's play with Teddy and Collin that night, Teddy brings up Bubba Sparxxx, which reminds me of the song. I decide I have to write it and start when I get home. I finish the lyrics, plan out how I want it to sound, and give a part of the beats to Nick, Collin, and Teddy. After some mic problems, and some practice attempts we get a good version recorded.

I was bored so I decided to add up the band's downloads on Newgrounds again. The previos count had been done September 8th. We got a suprising number of downloads in the last month, over 400. Over half of those new downlads came from our top 5 songs.

The Napoleon Dynamite Song and Super Mario - Guitar had huge jumps, they recieved a combined 175 downloads in the last month. The reason for the huge jumps I'd guess would be the fact that if you google "Super Mario Guitar" our NG page is the 3rd to come up, and if you google "Napoleon Dynamite Song" our NG page is the 5th to come up. The rush of Downloads finally made The Napoleon Dynamite song our most downloaded song at 277 downloads, beating out It's Almost Over Now (Diss to 25) which has 243.

Zelda Theme - Guitar is barely hanging on to the 5th spot. Guitar - King Of The Hill Theme is 1 download behind Zelda, Bling Bling is behind by 10.

Overall our songs have been downloaded 2046 times off of Newgrounds. 988 of those downloads come from our top 5.

As for when any new stuff might come, I'll try to find out what, if anything everyone's working on. I occasionaly get ideas, but the only thing I've really done, is write, and now record my own Rolling Through The Hood. I'll submit it and everything when I take the time to put beats to the recorded lyrics.

New Bush Whackers News

First things first, Teddy submitted a new song to MembrsOfBushWhackers, it's called Fired! It's kinda short, and not one of his best songs, but, ummmmmmmmm, listen to it anyways.

Wally was telling me has atleast one new song wrote that he hasn't recorded. I havn't heard anything new from Collin or anyone else.

As for me (Matt), within the last week I've done my first Bush Whackers stuff since the last blog update. Over Labor Day, when talking late at night with cousins I started two songs. One's kinda political, the other is the story of a day in the life of Aids, my cousins "friend" who is just ridiculous. The Aids one I wrote the first verse and the chorus, it probably won't be done for a while. The political song is done, and I have the style of music I want for it in my head, though I won't be able to record it for weeks/months till I go home and get a chance to use the piano.

Then, yesterday, I wrote one more song. I was working at 7am, and doing nothing (noone eats at 7am) and finally wrote a song. It started off as just a generic rap to submit to my personal GWBblows screen name on Newgrounds, it eventually became a "Rollin Through The Hood" style song. I been wanting to write my own RTTH type rap for a while. It sorta becomes a story, I hope it will sound good, then again I thought Buddy Christ would sound good, and that was horrible. I'll tell the whole story behind the song when I submit it (probably around the same time I submit the political one).

Lastly, when I do finish the two non-Aids songs (my RTTH, and the political one) I probably won't submit em to MembrsOfBushWhackers. My RTTH because it was wrote for GWBblows, and the political one because it's filleed with swearing rants, especially at the end.

BTW, my RTTH, isn't going to be titled "my RTTH", I have a name for it, It's an awesome name, that's why you'll only see it when I submit the awesome song to go with it on Newgrounds.

I got a big update this name, I'll arrange it by our three Newgrounds names, starting with the best, ending with the worst:

TheBushWhackers: Finally has a second song. Last night Teddy e-mailed me a final version of The Napoleon Dynamite Song. It's just like Da Napolean Dynamite Song-BETA without the backround noise, mess ups, or "turn the pages". Also it's played on an electric guitar. It sounds good, so finally, after 6 months, we have a second official song.

MembrsOfBushWhackers: The last 2 songs on this name have been submitted by Teddy. Big Red Plunger, and Bling Bling. Bling Bling is a long rap Teddy wrote a little while ago. Big Red Plunger consists of Teddy screaming and playing the guitar, in retrospect, he probably should have submitted it to RndTBWBExtr.

RndTBWBExtr: This name has a lot of news stuff. After the 2 cokmusic songs I submitted 5 of our freestyles from the 10 minute freestyle we had at the Super Bowl party. Teddy then submitted two guitar songs, the cool that is a song and OPERATION DECEPTION. Then I submitted the King Of The Hill theme song played on an acoustic guitar. This Flash artist called FourStar actually used that song in his flash, though all it was was a video of some idiot, so the submission got marked for administrative review. Then today Teddy submitted his version of the Usher "Yeah" song music played on his guitar.

I Hate Newgrounds

OK, so I decided to make a 3rd Bush Whackers name to submit stuff that sucks, freestyles and what naut. What naut? Well anyways I made TheBWsGarbage, and submitted a Collin Freestyle, and Newgrounds banned the name. So then I made a new name, RndTBWBExtr (Random The Bush Whackers Band Extra) and submitted some Cokemusic beats, I made the name weird so they wouldn't relate it to TheBWsGarbage, and submitted Cokemusic beats because that got the name MembrsOfBushWhackers approved.

So anyways, they approved the name, I decided to submit one more Cokemusic beat, just to get them all out there, it is a name for garbage afterall. So I sign in to RndTBWBExtr, then submit the song, and for some reason it got submitted to MembrsOfBushWhackers. So now there are two sucky Cokemusic songs on the middle name. O well. Atleast it didn't go to TheBushWhackers.

Disco Another Day

Two days after I finally update the blog The Bush Whackers have an awesome new song. Coincidence? Yes.

The new song was a collaboration between me (Matt) and Nick. The new song is called Disco Another Day. The inspiration for the song came when we were at the Newgrounds audio section and decided it needed more disco. I started randomly making some beats and ideas and stuff with Nick, and eventually decided to start writing it down. We went through each section of the song and I wrote down all the different parts. There's no disco section in Newgrounds so I freestyle some funk in the middle so we could submit it to the Funk.

Energy and Billy the Kid

Yea, I know, it's been a while since I updated the blog, I'm kinda lazy.

So anyways we have 2 new songs since last update.

One of them is Billy The Kid. It's all Teddy. I don't really know much of the history behind it.

The other is Energggy!. Let me just give a disclaimer, Energy is the worst, most garbage song ever. Well, maybe second worst, Buddy Christ is pretty bad too. Energy was completely done by me, Matt. The history behind it is we were sitting around at a party and I wanted to write a song, I looked for a piece of paper in the car and found a DTE Energy envelope. I then proceeded to write a song about Energy. It really is a terrible song, I put no effort or thought at all behind the lyrics, none at all. I had no real intention at all of recording it, then I was talking to Teddy a few weeks later, and he said record it, so I said ok, and did. The music for it is me randomly freesylin between 3 notes on the guitar. It is a terrible song. Don't listen to it.

This Song is For Tards and Buddy Christ

I submitted two songs to Newgrounds today. I'll give all the background info and stuff on on both.

First off is This Song Is For Tards. I actually started writing this song months ago. For months half of the song was basically finished, I just never got around to finishing it. Finally this Sunday I just wrote an ending for it so I'd have something at the party. At the party I decided I basically knew how I wanted the song to go and ended up just writing the guitar part by myself. Then on Monday and Tuesday I wrote the intro and outro. Is outro even a word? w/e. I played around with some different ideas, but eventually settled on what I have right now. It took me a while to memorize the entire guitar part in my head. Tuesday afternoon I recorded the song for the first time. I listened to it and though my singing was just horrible (that's not to say that I'm ever a good singer.) I wanted to record it another time though my fingers were just killing me. It is, after all, a 4 minute song, and I haven't played that much guitar in a while. Also it was hot in my room and I had to turn off the fan and close the windows so there would be no outside noise, and my left hand ended up sweating as I would play it. So anyways, I woke up today, it was cooler, and my fingers hurt less, after playing around for a while I recorded the version that is now on Newgrounds. There are some mistakes, though I'm not a great guitarist and it would be impossible for me to play a 4 minute song with no mistakes. Also I cut off the last 20 seconds so it would fit the size requirements for Newgrounds. Your not missing anything, it was just me playing quieter and quieter to end it.

Phew, well that's the story behind that song. As for it's future, I'll always leave it open for changes. Some songs, like The Ghost of George Bush, I can't imagine having anything to ever add or change to it. For the Tard song there are a world of possibilities. First off I'm not that great at guitar so there's a lot of room for change there. Also I love the topic, and we can always change verses, add new ones, take out old ones. That's not to say the song is currently in Beta form, it's in its final form, anything new would be a remix or something.

Ok, now for Buddy Christ. First let me say, I hate this rap. This, I believe, was a case of a song sounding decent in my head, but once I recorded it, everything went horribly wrong. I don't even like the lyrics anymore, I could have tried recording a better version, but I don't feel like wasting my time on this song. The song is basically about current events. It's basically my political thoughts on the "religious" right who are in the news constantly these days. I like to try to be more funny then serious in my songs, that's why I don't like Buddy Christ. I actually finished This Song is For Tards so I would have a good song to balance out Buddy Christ. The history behind the song is, I was trying to write a fast attack rap in one of my classes, it was a political class, so I ended up writing about politics. I ended up hating the entire thing except for two sections, those were the chorus and the "conservative haze, the end of days, destroy the earth because Jesus saves" part. When I was sitting in the car going home I decided to write something. I started written Buddy Christ around those two parts. It sounded decent in my head so I kept writing. I finished it the next day at the party. The last verse is the worst, I wrote that to try to come up with an ending, and it just sounds horrible. Sunday I recorded it. Nick did the beats, and screwed them up. I don't know how it's possible to screw up beats, but he managed to do it. Then I submitted it today along with This Song Is For Tards.

Injured Apple

We had a party and we actually ended up getting another song recorded. It's called Injured Apple. Teddy sings and plays the guitar. Wally sings. It was meant to be a heavy metal song. I don't really know that much about history/writing of it since I was with the coppers while it was being written. I'll add more to this post if I hear anything interesting.

We barely got one song recorded today. During the last 30-40 minutes of the party the BWs members finally sat down and started writing. Teddy and Wally were being yelled at to leave right as we started recording it. It ended up taking 4 attempts since Teddy kept cracking up throughout the song. I taped this song with a video camera, then re-recorded it on to my computer, it sounds fine to me, but they might do another version and record it straight to a computer.

Tommorow is Mother's Day and we'll hopefully will all be at our Grandma's at the same time and can get some more writing/recording done.

The Botox Chronicles

I added The Botox Chronicles like 2 weeks ago but I've been lazy and never really got around to updating this blog. I don't know if were going to consider this a Bush Whackers song. Everything else listed as Bush Whackers was recorded and saved after the creation of the band Dec. 31 2004. The Botox Chronicles was recorded last summer. Though just for the heck of it I submitted it anyways. Nick is singing. Teddy is playing the guitar.

The Ghost Of George Bush and Beta CD

First thing's first. We got a new song. It's called The Ghost Of George Bush. I (Matt) wrote it over the weekend. Friday I came up with the first verse and chorus and the basic tune to it. Saturday I wrote the second verse, added a intro, perfected the piano part and learned to sing and play the whole thing at the same time. I only recorded one version, there are some small mistakes, but I didn't think the mistakes were large enough to record a whole new version. It's clearly not one of our best songs, but I really didn't spend that much time on it. I was supposed to be writing a report anyways while I was recording it. The song is our second song written about George Bush, third song referencing him, and our first one actually recorded.

It's good though we finally got a song recorded about George W. Bush this weekend because it came just in time for our first CD. It's called "The Bush Whackers - Beta". It's called Beta obviously because we only have one official song, and the CD is filled with everything I had that could possibly be considered a recording by The Bush Whacks Band. I just wrote that down from memory, so o well if it's wrong. About half the stuff is on Newgrounds under MembrsOfBushWhackers and The BushWhackers. Some of it comes from the semi-corrupted 10 minute freestyle where at a party we just recorded 10 straight minutes of us freestylin and other random stuff. The file some how got totally messed up. Some of it I had to edit before I could use.

One last thing, Genius' Whackings is going to be changed alot. First off I'm going to get rid of the first part of it, I never liked that part. Second, I'm going to add alot more sections, I already wrote 8 lines on a Napkin during work, and I'm going to write a lot more. I want this to be a masterpiece symphony, 10 minutes long or more.

Genius' Whackings is truly a masterpiece. Collin started writing the guitar part for it so I posted it if Collin wants to finish the guitar part, or if Teddy wants to add something, or Wall wants to write a bass, or whatever. I'm open to all ideas.

The Bush Whackers Rap is a rap by The Bush Whackers Band!!! Any cousin who wants to contribute a part may fell free to do so. Some of the lyrics may be wrong because I had to copy bad handwriting off of a plate. Collin and Teddy if you want to change or correct your part just IM Matt, or just reply in the comments section. Easter Caroling

We ended up getting one thing recorded on Easter, even if it was recorded on a video camera. Though I just played it for our mic at home, and we got our most recent recording, Easter Caroling.

First off, some basic history, we go Christmas Carolinga lot on Thanksgiving, and usually stay at the house till they pay us. So anyways I was outside with Collin, and maybe someone else, I can't remember. So anyways we were thinking of something to do, and I suggest Easter Caroling. Then We go inside, and Colin shouts "Easter Caroling!" Everyone mostly sits around, I go downstairs to get a piece of paper and penci. Teddy and Scott are down there, they don't seem interested in Easter Caroling. I go upstairs and in one minute write a Easter Carol. Everyone gets up, within 2 minutes we're outside and we start walking around outside. We start ringing door bells and singing the Carol, it's past 10 and really dark so we can't see the paper and we sound horrible. I'm taping most of the times, and the version I submitted came from a time when there was a light on their property and we sang it pretty good.

I also lost the lyrics to "The War on Pandas". I rewrote the first half and the chorus and it's basically the same, but I can't remember the second verse. Penguin and Top Hat

I got tired of not getting anything recorded at parties, so I recorded and submitted two more songs today. I had a long list of songs I've had for 2 1/2 months, so I recorded "Penguin" and "Top Hat" today in addition to "Serious Collin" which I wrote last week. I find writing lyrics rather easy, though I'm not very talented musically so don't expect much. I also put a BETA behind Top Hat and Serious Collin because I figured those can get better musically. Penguin on the other hand I assumed is as good as it's going to get.

Also, I've been writing down the lyrics to some songs so Collin, Teddy, or whoever can record them if they want over spring break. I'll post links to the lyrics tonight or tommorow morning.

Serious Collin

Well I (Matt) recorded Serious Collin and submited it to Newgrounds. I said it was BETA, because I basically submitted the first version I recorded. The singing's not great, and I kinda mess up on the guitar, but then again, I shouldn't be the one playing guitar or singing this particular song. Anyways, the song is all about what it's like to be Collin. I ended up writing it last week at the party. I decided to write it while Teddy and Collin were talking. Collin said that he had wrote some serious songs. At first I thought "what does Collin have to be serious about???". Then I thought about some things Collin had said at the party, and I realized, maybe there was alot to being Collin. So I decided to write a song so the whole world would know what it's like to be Collin.

OK, so we had a party and we got nothing recorded. I (Matt) wrote a song about what it's like to be Collin (I'll explain more when I get it recorded) we also started a Bush Whackers rap with parts by Me Collin and Teddy.

I had hoped to on one day submit multiple versions of some video games songs, but it was looking like it was never going to happen, so I ended up just recording my parts and submiting them to Newgrounds. Just fyi, I'm the worst guitarist of the BWs, so don't expect too much. Here's Zelda, and here's Mario.

More submissions coming soon, Fri and Sat I plan to just start submitting BETA versions of the songs I've written. We're not getting em recorded at parties so I'm just going to record and submit them, even if it's just me playing the guitar poorly, wit no backup or anything :-/

The song was created before the BWs officially started recording music. The contributors to the song are Collin and Teddy of the BWs and a kid who's name, I believe, is Aids. Napoleon Dynamite Beta and 25's suckieness

It always takes me a while to add some things. First off I added the The Napolean Dynamite Song-BETA to Newgrounds. It's all Teddy's. It's under MembrsOfBushWhackers and called beta simply because there's alot of backround noise, Teddy messes up, and it was the only version we were able to record. BTW, since it's a messed up version, I gave it a messed up title ;) The final version will be called The Napoleon Dynamite Song and will be submitted on TheBushWhackers.

You can here the new stuff here. One more song still in BETA version should be up shortly, as soon as Teddy tells me what it's named. It's about Napoleon Dynamite but it's a terrible version (only recorded it once, there's laughs, and he messes up.) The other song is a rap by Teddy and Collin. I submited something, but its more Newgrounds related, and its not really a song.

At our first party we recorded 2 songs. You can find our stuff at Newgrounds. See the name TheBushWhackers for stuff done by our band. See the name MembrsOfBushWhackers for individual stuff, controversial stuff, or sub-par stuff. We're having a party in 2 weeks, so hopefully we can record some more stuff, and put it on Newgrounds. This time hopefully more people will have songs already prepared, but ya never know what will happen, we'll see. So far the current goal is to have enough good songs for a cd by the end of spring, so we can sell the cd on our vacations over the summer. If we can figure out how, we might put the cd on cafe express or something, but most of the songs will be on Newgrounds anyways.

Welcome to what might very well be the largest band in history, or at least the best. After years of talking about it, it is now here. The Bush Whackers. With as many members as we have cousins (um, like 25, I dunno) the music will be coming soon to a street corner near you. So watch out, as your walking in your favorite Walmart, you may see some kids sellin you a CD, buy it, it is The Bush Whackers, and it will be the best CD you've ever heard. For those of you who don't buy $1 CDs from kids on the street, certain works from The Bush Whackers will be put on Newsgrounds, so hold on and wait for a new sound better then any you've heard before.
